Included with every domain

Registering is the easy part. Keeping it yours is the job.

No upsell for the basics. DNS, locking, reminders and the registry paperwork come with the domain.

DNS you actually control

Edit A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and SRV records yourself, with changes live within minutes.

Transfer lock, on by default

Nobody moves your domain without the authorisation code, and we confirm with you before releasing one.

Renewals you cannot miss

Email reminders well before expiry, plus optional auto-renew so a live site never drops over an unpaid invoice.

Mail records set for you

Point mail at LoxaMail business email, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 and we configure the records.

Privacy where the registry allows

WHOIS privacy protection is offered in the cart for extensions that permit it. Some country registries publish details by policy, and those cannot be hidden.

Engineers on the paperwork

Registry rules differ by extension. When a document check or a transfer stalls, our team chases it rather than sending you a link.

How domains work

Three parties stand between a name and a website

Worth understanding before you buy, because it explains why some extensions cost more and why a few take longer to activate.

01

A registry owns the extension

Every extension sits with a registry: Verisign runs .com, PKNIC runs .pk. The registry sets the rules, the wholesale price and how long registrations last.

02

A registrar registers it for you

That is our side of the job. We hold the accreditation, submit your details to the registry, keep the registration current and handle correspondence when the registry asks questions.

03

DNS points the name somewhere

A domain on its own does nothing. DNS records connect it to your website, your mail and anything else you run, which is why the records matter as much as the name.

Choosing a name

Six things worth checking before you buy

A domain is cheap to register and expensive to change once it is printed on a vehicle, a signboard and every invoice.

  1. 1

Short enough to say out loud

If you have to spell it during a phone call, it is too long. A customer should be able to repeat it from memory after hearing it once.

  2. 2

    Match the trading name

The closer the domain is to the name above your door, the less explaining you do. Abbreviations work when customers already use them.

  3. 3

    Skip hyphens and digits

Both get lost in speech, and a customer typing from memory usually leaves them out and lands on somebody else's site.

  4. 4

Type it on a phone first

Most visitors arrive from a phone. Awkward letter combinations and doubled letters cause more typos there than on a keyboard.

  5. 5

Check the name is free elsewhere

Look for an existing trademark and check the handle is available on the networks you use, so the brand stays consistent.

  6. 6

    Hold the obvious variants

Registering the common misspelling, and the local extension beside the global one, costs little and keeps somebody else from trading on your name.

Types of extension

Which extension should you register?

There are three broad families, and most businesses end up holding one of each.

Global extensions

The names customers assume by default. If you sell beyond one city or expect anyone abroad to find you, this is where to start.

.com.net.org.co

Best for: Almost every business, in Pakistan and outside it

Country extensions

Tied to a place. They tell a visitor, and a search engine, which market you serve, which helps for local searches and does nothing for international ones.

.uk.us.ca.de

Best for: Local trading names and protecting a brand at home

Specialist extensions

The word after the dot carries meaning. Useful when the exact global name has gone, or when the extension itself describes what you do.

.io.shop.studio.app

Best for: Products, niches and newer brands

How it works

From search to live in four steps

Most global extensions are registered within minutes of your payment being recorded.

01

Search

Type the name once. We check it live and suggest the extensions worth holding beside it, each with its price.

02

Register

Add the names to the cart and check out. You get an order number and an invoice, and pay by bank transfer or in cash at our office.

03

Point it

Use our nameservers or your own. Tell us where the site and mail live and we set the records.

04

Keep it

Transfer lock on, reminders before expiry and every domain you own in one dashboard.

After you register

The records that make a domain do something

Edit them yourself in the dashboard, or send us the target and we will set them for you.

RecordWhat it doesExample
APoints the domain at a server's IPv4 address, which is how most websites are reached.@ → 203.0.113.10
AAAAThe same thing for IPv6, used where the network supports it.@ → 2001:db8::10
CNAMEPoints one name at another name, commonly for www or a service subdomain.www → example.com
MXSends mail for the domain to the right mail servers, with a priority for each.@ → mail.example.com (10)
TXTHolds verification strings and mail policies such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC.v=spf1 include:_spf.example.com ~all
NSNames the servers that answer for the domain. Change these to move DNS somewhere else.ns1.loxamail.pk

Domains and search

What a domain does, and does not do, for SEO

Plainly, because a lot of advice about this is a decade out of date.

Extensions do not rank

Search engines rank pages, not the letters after the dot. A .com does not outrank a .pk, and stuffing a keyword into the domain stopped being a shortcut years ago.

Pick one address and redirect the rest

Serve the site from a single canonical hostname, with or without www, and redirect every other version to it.

Keep the domain through a redesign

Links and history accumulate against the domain, not the design. Rebuild the site on the same address where you can.

Country extensions signal audience

A .pk tells a search engine your audience is in Pakistan. That helps for local queries and is neutral to unhelpful for international ones.

Put the domain beside your hosting

Take a hosting plan with your domain and the two sit on one account and one invoice.

Questions

Before you register

The things people ask us most about domains.

Answer 01

How long does registration take?

Registration is sent to the registry the moment your checkout is completed. Global extensions such as .com, .net and .org are usually live within minutes of that. Country extensions go through their own registry and can take longer when documents need checking.
